Shuruq is a seasoned speech and language therapist with a substantial professional background spanning India and the UAE. She earned her degree from Manipal University in 2016 and has since focused on assisting individuals of all ages with a wide range of communication impairments. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Malayalam, she conducts evaluations and therapies in all three languages. Upon relocating to Dubai in January 2020, she secured her Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
Shuruq is certified as an Oral Placement Therapist (OPT) by Talk Tools USA, utilizing a holistic approach to enhance speech clarity through auditory, visual, and tactile stimulation. Additionally, she holds certifications in DIR Floor time, facilitating tailored interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder to nurture their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Her expertise extends to PROMPT, a tactile-kinesthetic technique guiding articulators to enhance speech production, Gestalt Language Processing, aiding individuals in self-generating language and possess foundational training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), providing a solid understanding of behavioral principles and interventions, enabling her to provide tailored interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other communication challenges. With over more than five years of experience, she addresses a variety of communication difficulties in children, adolescents, and adults, including fluency, swallowing, and written language disorders. Shuruq offers individual and group therapy sessions, as well as parental guidance and training.
