Therapy Services
Our children require therapy services to help them manage their emotions and behaviours. This may include occupational therapy, speech therapy, or physical therapy. Therapy services can be very beneficial for our kids. Therapies can be different on each child depending upon their situation. Some of the therapy we provide are:
- Occupational Therapy:
This may help children to improve their ability to perform various tasks. It can also help children to develop fine motor skills and learn new strategies for coping with sensory issues. - Speech Therapy:
This can help children to improve their communication skills. It includes learning how to speak more clearly and make others understand what they are speaking. Or we may use other alternative communication methods such as sign language. - Behaviour Therapy:
This can help children learn new skills and make them behave properly. It may include social skills, coping strategies and emotional regulation. - Play Therapy;
We use Therapeutic tools to help children express their emotions and develop problem solving skills and improve their social skills. - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy:
This may help our children to change negative thoughts and behaviours. This type of therapy often treats anxiety, depression and other health conditions.
Work with Families
Working with families of our children can be a complex and challenging experience. It requires empathy, patience, communication skills, and a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by the child and their family.
We can help families to research and access resources that can provide support and assistance and we provide emotional support to families. This might involve simply listening to their concerns or offering words of encouragement, or helping the family to find ways to manage stress and anxiety. We assist with the education and development of the child.
